Storage Space

Published by rns under Family Relocation Tips

Storage space is something to consider when relocating to Orlando. Up North, most homes come equipped with basements and attics. Storage space in Florida isn’t as easy to come by. The water table in the Orlando area is too close to the surface for basements and we have crawl spaces instead of attics.

Before you move to Orlando, it is probably a good idea to have a yard sale or donate unwanted items to your local Salvation Army. If you simply can’t bare to part with some of your things then you will want to find an Orlando public storage facility.
There are many sized spaces to choose from. Also, you have the choice of climate controlled/indoor storage or outdoor Orlando storage facilities.

If you need help organizing your relocation to the Orlando area, RNS can help.

Orlando Bike Trails

Published by rns under Uncategorized

Good news for all of you “bikers” relocating to Florida. The final stages are in place to connect Orlando and the surrounding area’s bike trails. That means we will soon be able to ride from Orlando to Lake Mary and from Lake Mary to Cleremont by bike. That is a good 100 miles or more of paved trail!

Biking trails is a great way to enjoy the “off the beaten path” beauty of Orlando and the Central Florida area. It is safer than riding on the road and much more rewarding. Having a picnic, spending quality time with the family, getting great exercise…….what could be better.

You Aren’t the Only One Relocating

Published by rns under Uncategorized

I found an article that discusses remembering your spouse during the relocation process. Often they have had to quit their job or leave their social support group behind. The article gives great suggestions for finding your spouse support, coaching and training to help jump start their new life as well. Great Info!

“Today’s requirements also include life transition coaching or career transition coaching. Whether it’s identifying internships or researching self-employment opportunities most accompanying spouses/partners want to find something meaningful to do even if it is not income producing. Activities like furthering their education, learning a new language or skill, or getting involved in volunteer work that may leverage their background and enhance their experience may also be very satisfying alternative.”

Jet Blue’s headquarters is currently located in Queens, New York. Dave Barger, CEO of JetBlue announced that the company is considering relocating their headquarters and 800 employees from Queens to Orlando! Meetings between Mr. Barger and Florida’s Governor Charlie Crist are underway. Hopefully, Florida can offer the tax incentives needed to entice the Airline to make the move.
