CNN Money traveled the country to find cities and towns that had the best mix of business advantages and lifestyle appeal. The city of Orlando, Florida made CNN Money’s list of the “100 best places to live and launch”.

Beautiful weather and comfortable year round temperatures make Orlando a popular residential destination for many people. As spring approaches, temperatures will start to warm up, while still remaining pleasant. The only downside to Orlando’s weather is that July and August are the hottest months of the year and are generally accompanied with humidity and afternoon rains.

In the past 40 years, the growth of Orlando has driven many new businesses and corporations to make Orlando their home, thus bringing new jobs and better schools to the area. Along with businesses catering to the 40 million tourists a year who frequent Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and other theme-parks in the area, Orlando consists of a wide range of manufacturing and financial services companies.

The University of Central Florida and Florida’s National Entrepreneurship Center also bring residents to the area. The University of Central Florida (UCF) is the nation’s second largest university with over 56,000 students. It consists of 12 colleges located in Orlando and is constantly growing. The National Entrepreneurship Center (E-Center) is dedicated to encouraging new business ideas, supporting local business growth, and providing resources to small businesses in Central Florida.

With Thanksgiving approaching soon, much like the rest of the country, there are families in Central Florida that are concerned about pulling enough food together to celebrate along with the rest of us. One of the many great things about Orlando is the level of community involvement and philanthropy we have. One of the biggest organizations for food distribution is our Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. This private nonprofit delivers food donations to over 500 nonprofit agencies in counties all over Central Florida. Their mission? Create a “Hunger-Free” Central Florida.

Getting involved in the Orlando community is easy and much appreciated. There are plenty of organizations that assist with children, disaster relief, and general volunteering. If you like animals, there are pet care and animal rescue programs. If you like spending time contributing to the environment, we have many different national parks and preserves to maintain the balance of wildlife along with the care and importance of Florida nature.

Relocation Network Services in Orlando is here to make your transition to Central Florida smooth. We know that moving to a new city can be stressful. We our expert knowledge, RNS Florida is here to help.

Halloween is quickly approaching, and what better time to scare ourselves right out of shoes! Orlando’s theme parks get us riled up for the occasion by providing haunted grounds for this spooky time of the year. Here are just a few theme park events happening in Central Florida that will get you in the Halloween Spirit:

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party: Think “entire family” for this one. Disney characters will quell your fears with fun parades, outlandish costumes, and an exciting fireworks show. Haunted hallows will be easily traversable by adults and children alike, all while happily trick-or-treating along the likes of Mickey Mouse and other memorable Disney denizens.

Halloween Spooktacular: Sea World jumps into the game with this one by creating a trick-or-treat environment that invites sea creatures to partake in lollipops and select chocolate goodies. Children are encouraged to dress themselves in zany costumes to become the ideal audience for “silly and spooky” shows that will commence throughout the month.

Halloween Horror Nights: Let’s just say this is pretty much the “no kids zone”. Universal gets a face lift at night by changing many areas and rides into themed haunted houses. Grip your closest friends in fear as you pass through foggy hallways with terrifying noises and growls from inconspicuous monsters and ghouls.

Orlando is a prime location to relocate to because it has so much to offer. October in Orlando has some of the best fall activities you can participate in around Central Florida.

Many people don’t think zombies can exist by any means: parasite, undead, virus, or cursed. Even if the dead can’t feasibly rise, they certainly will this Saturday, October 1st, in Audubon Park for the annual Zombietoberfest.

Basically, you don’t want to miss this event. The event is much larger than it was last year, and will have our beloved food trucks, vendors, tons of bands, and plenty of zombies that will be seeking out your cranial candy. Some of the following activities will be at the event for your ghoulish pleasure:

Zombie Face Painting

All Ages Costume Contest

Graveyard Movies by Enzian Theater

Human vs. Zombie Laser Tag by Battle Tag Parties

Zombie Karaoke @ Big Daddy’s

Mother Falcon Zombies II (art show & printed t-shirts)

Adult Zombie Walk led by the always ready-for-action Random Encounter

“The Walking Dead” Screenings by A Comic Shop @ Stardust

Zombie Dance Party @ Stardust

Zombie Photo Contest

Even if you’re not in Orlando this year for this ghastly event, this event is only going to get better and better every year.

Orlando is a prime location to relocate to because it has so much to offer. The beginning of October poses some of the best fall activities you can participate in around Central Florida. In the spirit of Smithsonian Museums, who offer free admission everyday of the year, Museum Day is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine in which participating museums across the country open their doors for free to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket.

If the PGA Tour decided to switch from regulation size golf courses to the miniature ones with windmills and volcanoes, Orlando would be a top destination. There are plenty of them scattered throughout town-over in the UCF area, down International Drive, throughout Disney World, and everywhere in between. They can be safari themed, look like the deck of a pirate ship, or have a mystical dinosaur-induced visage. Mini-golf courses that are appealing to everyone!

Putt putt challenges are great for friends, first dates, family outings, and practice before your stint at Torrey Pines. Many places offer you the chance to feed gators, partake in food and beverage, and sneak onto “employee only” sections to see where the golf magic happens (we don’t recommend doing this). Putt putt, mini-golf, baby PGA…however you say it, it’s one of the most enjoyable outdoor activities you can participate in.
